The Upper Kenai Wildlife Refuge | The Upper Kenai Wildlife Refuge is a five mile stretch of a beautiful braided river system. This is a typical full day trip in June and July when the fishing is best in this section. When floating the Upper Kenai Wildlife Refuge fishing will usually be from a drift boat, stopping occasionally to work a riffle and the banks. This section of river is only accessible to guides who hold a Kenai River Refuge Permit and private anglers |

Kenai Wildlife Refuge Fishing Full Day Drifts
Flowing downstream from the world famous Russian River, the Kenai River winds its way through a maze of gravel bars, back channels and is interlaced with islands. As it flows through the Kenai Wildlife Refuge fishing is amazing and the scenery is spectacular. You’ll soon realize that this beautiful section of the Upper Kenai is a favorite fishing hole of the locals from Coopers Landing, Alaska.
- 8-9 Hour Float
- Departs Daily: Check In: 7:30am / Departs: 8am
- Trophy Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden fishing takes place all season, which is from June through early October.
- There are two Sockeye salmon runs (Reds): June 11 to June 30; and July 25 through August 10.
- Silver Salmon (Coho) run from August 20 to October 15.
